Consider that when wealth is distributed equitably, based on effort rather than ownership, health & education funding improve. From this flows a naturally reducing population growth rate. Humans dot naturally want to have 5 kids. Study after study has proven that birth rates drop back closer to 2 per family when wealth is shared fairly. The ethiopian farmer has 10 kids because he knows only a couple will survive.

Depends on who you mean by ‘we’ I can’t agree that the purpose of the earth is to sustain as many human beings as it possibly can. Gotta leave some room for trees and animals as well.
’twas Mark Twain that said:
“Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”
However those with land that could be used to accomodate someone who has none, need to be made to make it available.
